| Sunday | October 24, 2010 | Theater and Dinner, Into the Woods, 2 PM, Mendelsohn Theater. This show, composed by Stephen Sondheim, won 1987 Tony Awards for Best Score, Best Book and Best Actress. It intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and carries them out to their logical and illogical consequences. It combines good singing with a fable that is both tragic and uplifting. Roast beef dinner at the Cottage Inn after the show. Tickets are limited, $50 for theater and dinner. 2005 President's Scholarship Winners
To register for an event, send an email to clubofdownriver@umich.edu with your name, address, phone and the number of tickets you want.
Football Tailgate Parties - Send an email to Bill Richardson with the number of persons attending the tailgate party by Wednesday prior to the next game. Members are asked to donate $10.00 per person (students are free) or donate at least $125 to the scholarship fund, this is good for both the tailgate and watch parties. Send your check made out to “The University of Michigan” to: UM Club Downriver, PO Box 294, Trenton, MI 48183. We will send these checks to the appropriate U of M financial office for official donation to U of M. You will receive a receipt from the university. Club provides food and drinks including a bottle of water to take into the game. Bring a dish to share if you want. The club tailgate is located in the "Purple Lot" next to Pioneer High School near Ann Arbor-Saline Rds. Look for club banner located near the first tree on the grassy area between the two paved lots. . Map.
Watch Parties - Held at the a location TBD for every away game. The club pays for the pizza - you buy your own drinks. Guests more than welcome! Members are free. Students are free. Guests are asked to contribute $10.00 or donate $125 to the scholarship fund, this donation will be good for both the tailgate and watch parties.

Please consider our "Make Your Event, Our Event" philosophy! The club is all about getting together with other people to share in fun activities. Many activities are sports related, but our club is known for the number of non-sporting events we try to hold as well. If you or your family are planning to have an event that you think would be fun for others, make it a club event. We are more than happy to find out who else in the club would be interested in the event. A trip to Mackinaw, Chicago, historic sites, etc. are fun for some members, a community service activity would be welcome by others and even starting a book, investing or other club activity may be a possibility. It never hurts to ask, and sometimes having more people involved make the activity that many times better for everyone. All we ask is that you are willing to "run" the event that you propose or find a board member who is willing to take it on themselves.
